Excavation & digging

Efficient excavation and digging for foundations, utility lines and civil works — safe and according to plan. Request a free quote from SFM Entreprenad.

Excavation and digging are the basis of almost all ground and construction projects. Done correctly, they create a stable and load-bearing base – done incorrectly, they lead to settling and expensive rework. SFM Entreprenad has machines and expertise for everything from smaller residential excavation to larger civil engineering works.

What we excavate and dig for

  • House foundation, basement and garage – excavation to the correct depth and level
  • Utility lines and cables – electricity, fibre, water and sewer
  • Wells, stormwater and culverts
  • Driveways, walls and civil works
  • Rock excavation and blasting-preparation excavation

Safe and according to plan

We plan every assignment carefully in order to minimise disruption and keep to the schedule. Before we dig, we request a utility line marking and take account of ground conditions, runoff and access. Leftover material is handled in an environmentally responsible way through recycling or approved landfill.

What affects the price?

The cost of excavation and digging depends on the excavation depth, the nature of the ground (soil, clay or rock), the volume of material and how easily the machines can access it. We always provide a fixed quote after a site visit so that you know the price in advance.

How we work

  1. Contact and site visit – we assess the conditions on site.
  2. Quote and planning – a clear price, schedule and utility line marking.
  3. Execution – safe excavation and digging with the right machine for the job.
  4. Hauling away and restoration – we leave a clean and finished surface.

Frequently asked questions about excavation & digging

What is the difference between excavation and digging? +

Digging means making a hole or trench, while excavation is a broader term that means moving and levelling soil masses to create the right base – for example ahead of a house foundation. In practice they often go hand in hand in the same ground project.

Can you dig near utility lines and cables? +

Yes. We always request a utility line marking before we dig and work carefully next to electricity, fibre, water and sewer to avoid damage and outages.

What happens to the excavated material? +

We handle and haul away leftover material in an environmentally responsible way, with recycling or approved landfill. Material that can be reused on site we are happy to keep in order to keep the cost down.

Can you handle rock excavation? +

Yes, we perform rock excavation and blasting-preparation work. After a site visit we assess whether the rock requires splitting or blasting and plan the work accordingly.
