Preparing the plot properly before construction begins saves both time and money later in the project. Here are a few things we recommend you go through together with your contractor.
Check the ground conditions
Have a ground survey show which type of soil and groundwater level applies to your particular plot. That determines how the excavation and drainage need to be designed.
Review pipes and cables
Find out where existing electricity, water & sewage and fibre lines run before excavation begins, to avoid unnecessary interruptions and damage.
Plan for stormwater
Consider already at the planning stage how rain and meltwater should be led away from the house. It is easier to solve before pouring than afterwards.
